Two-mode limited feedback block-fading adaptive transmission with minimum guaranteed rate in MIMO channel

چکیده
This paper develops an adaptive scheme relying on a part-time availability of the channel state information and supplying the constant minimum rate achievable for an arbitrary fading realization. The two-mode transmission is investigated with the instantaneous perfect channel state information being known at the transmitter in the limited portion of time. We derived a general procedure for a suitable probabilistic description of the channel under such a scheme. The first mode is without any feedback and it uses a simple uniform symbol energy assignment. The second one is the emergency mode with the perfect instantaneous channel state information. It is implemented by the channel inversion (or eigenmode sub-space channel inversion) guaranteeing the minimum required rate regardless of the channel observation. The parameters of the transmission are the total available transmitted symbol energy, the portion of time the perfect feedback channel is used, the minimum required rate, and the average symbol energy transmitted in the first and the second mode. For these cases, we have found very essential trade-off among the system parameters and also we have derived a general procedure how to evaluate long-term performance. Adaptive Video Transmission over Wireless MIMO System
There has been an interesting issue in multimedia communications over wireless system in recent years. In order to achieve high data rate wireless multimedia communications, spatial multiplexing technique (Foschini & Gans, 1998; Wolniansky et al. 1998) has recently developed as one of the most noteworthy techniques as multiple-input and multiple-output (MIMO) systems. If the channel state infor...
متن کاملEmpirical Mode Decomposition based Adaptive Filtering for Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing Channel Estimation
This paper presents an empirical mode decomposition (EMD) based adaptive filter (AF) for channel estimation in OFDM system. In this method, length of channel impulse response (CIR) is first approximated using Akaike information criterion (AIC). Then, CIR is estimated using adaptive filter with EMD decomposed IMF of the received OFDM symbol. The correlation and kurtosis measures are used to sel...

Biljana Badic et al. 443 Since the publication of Alamouti’s famous space-time block code, various quasi-orthogonal space-time block codes (QSTBC) for multi-input multi-output (MIMO) fading channels for more than two transmit antennas have been proposed. It has been shown that these codes cannot achieve full diversity at full rate. In this paper, we present a simple feedback scheme for rich sca...

In this paper we propose a new space diversity scheme for broadband PLC systems using orthogonal space-time block coding (OSTBC) transmission combined with single-carrier frequency-domain equalization (SC-FDE). To apply this diversity technique to PLC channels, we first propose a new technique for combining SC-FDE with OSTBCs applicable to all dispersive multipath channels impaired by impulsive...
متن کاملSupermode Transmission for MIMO-based Wireless Communications with Limited Feedback
In this paper, we propose a limited feedback transmission based on precoding mechanism for multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) systems, referred as to supermode transmission. With a fixed data-rate, it allows different degree-of-freedom (DoF) depending on the current channel state information (CSI) and different transmission scheme with the same DoF. Through numerical examples, we show that t...
